How Traceable Are Your
Products and Suppliers?

A Traceability Assessment will enable you to understand where vulnerabilities exist in your operations and supply chain network, while laying out the options and the costs to  close the gaps

A visit, phone call or a letter from the FDA has always been an unsettling experience.  What do they want now? Are we ready for an impromptu inspection? Are our records in order?  These are some of the questions that go racing through your mind when the FDA calls.  For many food originators, processors and handlers the frequency, scope and business implications of such contacts are about to multiply. In a worst-case scenario the FDA may be investigating your company's role in an ongoing foodbourne illness outbreak.  The readiness of your organization to quickly verify your practices and supply the required traceback data can make or break your ability to send the FDA on its way, protect your brand equity and resume profitable business operations.

A Foley Consultancy Traceability Assessment will identify the problem areas and outline the steps necessary to plug the holes in your (and your supply chain partners') informational and operational processes.  For a detailed listing of the scope and deliverables of a Traceability Assessment, please see our Packaged Services page.

Orlando - 16-Apr-2010
Xerafy,
a Hong Kong-based RFID tag manufacturer has introduced what it claims to be the world's smallest read-in-metal and read-on-metal UHF tags designed for harsh industrial environments.  According to CEO and Founder Dennis Khoo, read ranges of one to one and one half meters are possible using a handheld UHF reader/interrogator.

In the following interview conducted at RFID Journal Live! 2010 in Orlando, Khoo and Xerafy's Sales and Marketing Manager, Moses Chang discuss several challenging use cases that are now addressable due to their tags' small footprint and extended read ranges.
